Under the terms of our exemption Rural England, everyone must be a member to attend our events. Simply put, our Exemption Certificate allows us to organise events for up to 5 days without applying for planning permission in the same way the big clubs can.
It is not our aim to make money members who join anytime after the 1st January but before the 31st December will pay the full membership fee, but their renewal will be due on the anniversary of joining the club so they still get the full twelve months.
Dorset Shed Draggers Membership Fees are £20 per family, for current and new members.
Please contact us if you can’t or haven’t renewed your membership by the due date, let us know your intentions and avoid your membership being lapsed.
Membership will include the Dorset Shed Draggers membership of ACCEO, governing body for exempted organisations and our public liability insurance arranged by Grove Insurance Services. (Now Saffron Insurance)
All our members pay the same for all activities, our organisers pay site fees, if we provide food or entertainment all adults pay their share, we will not charge for children unless it is something special we have organised especially for them.
We are not registered for VAT, so unless we are charged VAT by the site owners etc, it will not be added, the same applies to food and entertainment. When you consider that 20% of the fees you pay to big clubs is VAT the cost of DSD membership will soon be recouped.
We do charge £1 admin fee for each unit that attends to help pay towards everyday expenses, so a 5 day rally at £6 a night will cost £31 including admin – the same 5 nights on a big club rally will cost around £40!
